Optimisation

Uff…. renovation is completed, contractors are gone, dust swept, our new HVAC is operational – should we stand idly? What is next?

Now it is the time to look at the performance of your new system in various seasons, loads and hours. Are you getting from your system what you paid for? Is your expensive condensing boiler producing any condensate (read: efficiency)? Do they really need chilled water at 5⁰C? Will 10⁰C be sufficient at this time of the year or when we produce our products at partial load? Why so much air is delivered to the room when nobody is there and what is the setting of our expensive carbon dioxide sensor? Continuous optimization and efficient approach to the maintenance issues can help.

We reviewed Heating Plant four months after the upgrade. Savings were already in the range of 25% to 35%. Minor adjustments of the controls and pumps setting resulted in the savings increased to 48% comparing to the base line. Red line indicates “renovate and do nothing” scenario.
